Product details
In 1950s South Africa, the country's complex history culminated in a confrontation between white and black populations. Freedom of speech is restricted. Large gatherings are prohibited. Apartheid is in effect. Voting rights are not universal. Equality, justice, and democracy—for all—must be fought for. Leading figures, including Nelson Mandela, emerge, and the Freedom Charter is formulated. In the name of resistance against oppression and the defense of freedom, lives are sacrificed and key players are imprisoned. Nevertheless, Mandela becomes President of South Africa in 1994, and shortly thereafter, a unified constitution is introduced. How could such a grim situation lead to such a unifying outcome?.
