Naturschutzfachliche Betrachtung des NSG Neuenhagener Mühlenfliess

The Neuenhagener Mühlenfliess nature reserve is part of the landscape protection area of the Neuenhagener Mühlenfliess lowland system and its tributaries, which was designated as a protected area in 2003. It covers an area of 121 hectares and is located in Brandenburg, in the Märkisch-Oderland district, within the municipalities of Neuenhagen near Berlin and Dahlwitz-Hoppegarten. The basic data of the nature reserve was last recorded in 1994 as part of a biotope mapping project. According to the biotope mapping guidelines for Brandenburg, a total of 47 main and 19 secondary biotopes were identified throughout the area. Notably, the area is dominated by a largely natural alder swamp forest and the wet meadows in Neuenhagen, which receive special attention due to the presence of Dactylorhiza majalis and Primula elatior. It was also clearly evident that the remaining unused open land holds significant development potential. To utilize this potential, measures have been proposed to maintain and, if possible, improve the condition of the area.
