Product details
Sponges are often considered hardly suitable for aquariums in marine aquaristics. Many aquarists have had disappointing experiences after purchasing beautifully colored specimens from specialty stores and placing them in their reef tanks, only to observe them slowly dying shortly thereafter. On the other hand, large populations of various sponge species often develop over time in nearly every healthy and established reef tank, but they are rarely noticed because they live beneath or behind the decorative rocks. Some species are therefore highly suitable for aquariums, as long as we meet their specific environmental requirements. One must understand sponges in order to care for them successfully. This booklet aims to assist aquarists in this regard, as these ancient multicellular organisms of our planet are highly interesting creatures.
