Nathan der Weise. Studienausgabe

Editorially speaking, Lessing's major works, including "Nathan," are almost among the great unknowns among the classics. This is certainly also due to the fact that the historical-critical edition of Lessing belongs to the founding documents of German studies in the early 19th century, but is also outdated and offers a flawed text. More recent editions of Lessing have not fundamentally improved the situation. The study edition of "Nathan" addresses this by using, for the first time, the version of the text (out of three published in 1779) that was fully approved by the author.
