In two small volumes, four texts by Lacan were published for the first time in 2005, which can be described as key texts and excellent access points to his work. As Hans-Dieter Gondek noted on the occasion of the French edition, these can be wholeheartedly recommended to anyone interested in Lacan without any reservations. This first of the two volumes contains two texts: "Le symbolique, l'imaginaire et le réel" is such an important and fundamental text that it is hard to understand why this lecture was not already included in the Écrits, the collection of Lacan's writings from 1966, or in the supplementary volume from 2001, Autres Écrits.
