Nachts, wenn alle schlafen

Matz, Fratz, and Lisettchen want to play with the little owls. But the owl children sleep during the day. So the three squirrels decide to visit their friends at night. They sneak out of their home, and indeed, the little owls are awake and want to play. At first, the three squirrels are excited about the nighttime play opportunity, but after a short while, fatigue wins out, and all three are happy when Papa Squirrel finds them and takes them back to their beds. The next morning, Mama Squirrel makes it clear that there will be no more nighttime antics. So the three decide to write letters to the little owls in the future to stay in touch with them.
