Musik und Emotionen

Music and emotions are currently in vogue, not just since emotions have become one of the main topics in science, self-help literature, and journalism. The connection between these two ephemeral phenomena dates back to ancient times and is far more complex than the widely known phrase that music is the language of feelings suggests. In this volume, approaches from historical musicology, dance studies, and sound studies are for the first time combined with methods from the history of emotions to describe the multifaceted relationship between music and emotions from a cultural-historical perspective.
