The book also features an updated chapter for the new edition on the officially protected mushrooms of Switzerland and the closed season, as well as a contribution on cultivated mushrooms as an alternative to wild mushrooms. All images are in color and were taken in Switzerland.

The second edition of the popular mushroom guide has been expanded and improved: among other things, 50 photos have been replaced with new shots, the chapter on mushroom/tree communities has been expanded by about 30 pages, and the literature and address section has been completely updated.
