Multiprocessor systems

Technical system products are now unimaginable without the use of microelectronics and microprocessors. The application of microprocessors ranges from specialized single processors, such as microcontrollers, to large processor systems where many processors collaboratively handle a common task (multiprocessors). As part of a course that has been running for three years, the aim is to complement a basic education in microprocessors with modern microprocessor and computer technology. The focus is not on high-performance computers for numerical applications. Instead, the goal is to understand the computer system as part of technical systems, such as process control and monitoring systems, machine and robot controls, traffic management systems, measurement systems, diagnostic systems in medical technology, or digital communication systems.
