Product details

The third book by Peter Balsiger, "The Davos Conspiracy," takes Antoine Steiner back to his Swiss homeland, out of the Southeast Asian jungle and up to the snow-covered peaks of the Alps. This gripping political thriller is set against the historical backdrop of 1994, when an agreement on the Middle East conflict was reached between Shimon Peres and Yasser Arafat at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Antoine, who takes over the investment firm of a deceased friend in Zurich, finds himself caught in the vortex of a conspiracy that threatens the balance of the world. Once again, the "Chindit" must swap his suit and tie for a rifle and camouflage and take up arms against sinister forces.

Peter Balsiger worked for a long time as a war correspondent for the Swiss tabloid Blick. His reports and articles on the Vietnam War, the Six-Day War, Biafra, and the Lebanese Civil War made him one of Switzerland's best-known journalists. Later, he worked as editor-in-chief for several newspapers and magazines in Switzerland and Germany. He processes his war experiences and the time he spent in Southeast Asia in his works. Peter Balsiger lives in Munich.
