Product details

Of course: Munich shines. But sometimes the city can also be incredibly annoying. Matthias Kiefersauer grew up in an area where the term "Munich resident" was considered an insult. In the 1990s, he moved to the largest settlement between Oberpframmern and Zötzelhofen, that is, to Munich. This changed his perception. Today, nearly thirty years later, he doesn't want to leave anymore.

Since 2008, Matthias Kiefersauer has been writing a weekly column in the "Münchner Merkur" about his life as a Munich resident. Over 600 texts have emerged, snapshots of a Munich resident balancing between extremes. Sometimes the author rubs against the city and complains about the rental madness, traffic collapse, and the local hobby Berliners. Other times, he explains why Munich is the best city between Oberpframmern and Zötzelhofen. Somehow, both statements hold true. Matthias Kiefersauer describes moments from his everyday life with a trained eye for detail, a sense of the absurd, and great self-irony. The book "Munich, You Too!" gathers nearly 200 columns from the last decade. They are arranged like a journey through a year in the world city with Föhn. Michaela Weniger has illustrated this journey.
