Teresa is sixteen. She lives, far from happily, in a blended family with her father Hannes, his second wife Betty, and her four step-siblings. Sophie, Teresa's mother, who has no qualms about spending a night with a pop star, is not exactly the ideal mother figure for Teresa due to her lack of maternal instincts, and the step-grandparents are not quite what one would hope for in terms of grandparental affection. One consolation is that most of her friends live in similar situations; no one is really to be envied. Teresa has learned to stand up for herself, but she is still a child, vulnerable and terribly alone in a world of supposedly adult egoists. A dark, biased, and melancholic story about the crisis zone of blended families.
