The coins that Swantje Strieder threw into the Fontana di Trevi as a child have worked their magic. She returned to Rome as a foreign correspondent and learned as a mother that bambini here always eat pasta, never potatoes! She enjoys writing about everyday life in Rome: the café where the best espresso is brewed, the market vendor from whom she buys her vegetables, as well as the cultural scene – both ancient and contemporary.
