Motivation

Based on everyday phenomena and self-awareness, this book introduces the reader to motivation research. The presentation leads from explanations based on instinct and instinct theory to the analysis of situational incentives and on to classical motivational psychology. Current research deals with will processes (volition research), risk motivation and the joyful absorption in the activity (flow experience). The concept of motivational competence is then derived. The last chapter deals with ways to measure motivation (motivation diagnostics). The authors succeed in using selected examples to illustrate typical behaviour and models. The 9th edition has been updated and revised from a didactic point of view.
