Mort Cinder

The London antiquarian Ezra Winston is led by mysterious signs to the grave of a man executed named Mort Cinder. Mort Cinder returns from the dead to pull Ezra into dark adventures: the revenant was a witness to a series of historical events! Mort Cinder is a masterpiece by author Héctor G. Oesterheld and artist Alberto Breccia. Since its release in 1962, Mort Cinder has been considered one of the expressive highlights of the Ninth Art.

Breccia recalled: “Let Mort Cinder appear only after fifteen or twenty pages; until then, an old man tells the story – and I want to be that old man!” Thus, the antiquarian bears the features of Alberto Breccia – even though he will only look like his character decades later.
