In blood count diagnostics, the morphology of blood cells plays a crucial role in determining the further diagnostic approach for hematological diseases. This book is based on successful microscopy courses for medical technical laboratory assistants (MTLA), aspiring laboratory physicians, and clinical chemists. It aims to impart practical morphological fundamentals and highlight specific features of the differential blood count that often elude instrumental hematological methods. The illustrations, compiled in over 200 blocks, have mostly been documented using digital computer-assisted microscopy, which is increasingly being adopted in routine laboratories.
