Montezuma's Man

Joe Barbarossa is a cop with a difference: he operates undercover from the back room of a ping-pong club and does his own drug deals on the side. Just the right man for Isaac Sidel, chief of the New York Police Department and front-runner for the post of New York City mayor. Isaac should be on the campaign trail by now, but he still has a bone to pick with the Mafia. With Glock in hand and stocking mask over his head, Sidel and Barbarossa go on a not-quite-legal raid of New York's Mafia locales - and repeatedly come across mysterious Sicilian wooden dolls that interest not only the Mafia but also the FBI. Meanwhile, Joe Isaac's daughter, Marilyn the Wild, is missing, and Isaac is still chasing his old lover Margaret Tolstoy: from Manhattan to the Bronx to Palermo.
