Montafon

One of the most beautiful holiday regions in Austria. Whether hiking or climbing, mountain biking or winter sports - Montafon has everything that makes a mountain vacation a great experience all year round. Photographer and mountaineer Andreas Künk, a native of Montafon, showcases his homeland in all its diversity and characteristic beauty. Rugged, gray rocks stretch as far as the eye can see. The air is fresh and fragrant. A pink sea spreads over the jagged rock formations. Alpine roses bloom by crystal-clear mountain lakes. No sound is heard - except for the gentle ringing of cowbells. Surrounded by three mighty mountain ranges, Montafon lies in western Austria: to the north rises the solitary Verwall, to the south the white splendor of Silvretta, and to the east the steep slopes of Rätikon tower above. Accordingly, the possibilities that Montafon offers are incredibly diverse.
