This teaching material provides fundamental knowledge about the structure of a local area network (LAN) for small businesses. After an introduction to current types of networks, services, and techniques, readers will learn through a case study which aspects need to be considered when planning, designing, installing, and configuring a LAN with internet access. It then demonstrates how the established LAN can be systematically tested and documented.
