Modernisierung und Sozialarbeit in Spanien

Few European countries are likely to have changed as much in recent decades as Spain. While it was still a rural country with a low level of education until the 1950s, it has now become an industrialized country with a predominantly urban population. The democratization after Franco's death in 1975 put an end to Spain's anomaly and brought the country closer to other Western countries, both culturally and politically, after this had already happened before in social and economic terms. A clear expression of this rapprochement was the accession to the EC in 1986. The underlying question of the study is: What were the connections in Spain between processes of social modernization and the development of social work? This question presupposes that modernisation has taken place.
