The new edition of 'The Adventures of the Little Witch' combines tried-and-true elements with content-related adjustments. The well-known observation method for children aged 4 to 7 receives a practical enhancement through the new A4 format and clearly structured, easy-to-use observation sheets that contribute to a more organized documentation. The starting points in this 7th edition remain three thematically connected stories, each embedding eight observation situations. These take into account the competency areas of children's sensorimotor development. The fairy tales are designed to introduce children playfully and in small groups to movement situations. The focus of the observations is on the child's attempts to solve problems, such as: Can it solve the task as required? What strategies does it employ? What qualitative statements can be derived from its actions? The emphasis is placed on qualitatively observing diagnostic situations to evaluate the child's various behavioral and action strategies based on this. This edition also includes numerous practical examples for each observation situation, providing guidance and suggestions for further psychomotor approaches. In this sense, diagnostics and practical support are intended to be interrelated and become an integral part of educational and therapeutic daily life. Furthermore, readers are encouraged, in light of this observation method, to create their own relevant diagnostic situations for their specific target groups.
