Moderner Kirchenbau in der Schweiz

In Switzerland, more than a thousand Catholic and Reformed churches, monasteries, and chapels were built in the second half of the 20th century. These structures are based on a new understanding of liturgy and community: they are impressive testimonies of a church in transition. They also stand out for their great diversity in spatial design, form, materialization, and furnishings. The contributions in this volume discuss modern church construction in Switzerland from the perspectives of architectural and art history, Catholic and Reformed theology, heritage preservation, renovation, bell studies, and organ building. They contribute to a deeper understanding of a fascinating period in church architecture and provide a foundation for decisions related to renovations, heritage protection, and repurposing.
