Mobile TV: DVB-H

The digitization of information and telecommunications technology has undergone rapid development in recent years and will continue to advance in the future. This work examines a current issue in the field of television production and distribution. It provides a detailed description of the functioning of the new broadcasting standard DVB-H, comparing it to previous digital transmission methods, and highlights the necessary changes and adjustments required at the content level. The technical comparison of the systems and an independently conducted field study form the basis for a concluding discussion on the new hybrid transmission techniques. A changed culture of use results in specific formats for mobile television and new business models, which expand the tasks of the production environment in the case of a multi-platform approach.
