Reading Uppsala in spring: The students of the university town celebrate Walpurgis Night when the body of a blonde student is found in the anatomy lecture hall, showing clear signs of strangulation. Previously, several blonde women had been attacked and strangled. Just like the deceased student, all victims were missing their left shoe. The police want to create a profile of the perpetrator and call in psychiatrist Nathalie Svensson for help. Exhausted from her divorce battle with her ex-husband, Nathalie throws herself into the investigation. The victim is the daughter of a good friend, and she knows: As long as the perpetrator is not caught, no young woman in Uppsala is safe.
