A house. Two women. Two centuries.

As an interior designer, Claire is extremely successful, but her marriage is in deep crisis due to her husband's near-affair. When he abruptly buys a historic Southern mansion in Atlanta to start anew far away from Denver, Claire is horrified. However, she tries to make the best of the situation.

Surprisingly, Claire discovers the diary of Charlotte Thursmann, who lived in the mansion about 150 years earlier. Fascinated, she immerses herself in Charlotte's world and learns about a woman who had to fight similar battles as she does.
