Miquel Barceló (1957) is considered the most internationally successful Spanish artist today. His captivating work - including paintings, ceramics, and bronze sculptures - explores themes of life and death, decay and transcendence, distant foreign worlds, and the fascinating underwater realm of the sea. For the first time, the artist's oeuvre is presented in Germany in a large-scale solo exhibition featuring around 70 paintings from all periods of his work, along with a selection of ceramics. The opulent catalog includes an essay by Büchner Prize winner Clemens J. Setz, as well as contributions from the artist and curator Kay Heymer, providing a comprehensive insight into the visual world of one of the great painters of our time.
