The more complex the world we work in becomes, the more apparent the limitations of current management practices are. As our work relationships become more decentralized, flexible, and virtual, a leadership philosophy that does not engage with these changing conditions on equal terms fails increasingly. Regardless of the concepts pursued, the plans made, or the decisions taken, the feeling of being constantly haunted by countless unpredictable events is undeniable. This experience drives many managers to the brink of despair, especially when they cannot let go of the expectation to organize and control everything down to the last detail.
