Milieu und Milieubildung

In the context of the milieu perspective, the access of social work to the life worlds of its clients can not only be expanded socio-spatially and socio-culturally, but it can also reveal the nature of their embedding within the social structure of a society. This allows for the central dimension of social integration, which is crucial for social work, to be captured. The concept of milieu formation gives social pedagogical work an emphasis that connects the person- and group-oriented action perspective with a social structural perspective, without losing the life-world connection of social pedagogy. In this sense, milieu is viewed as a dynamic life-world that is simultaneously shaped by social structures and values, serving as a space for experience and coping that emerges in the habitus of the target groups that can be pedagogically influenced.
