Migration bewegt Schule

Migration is often perceived as a process that concludes with immigration to Germany. However, for a substantial number of students, a future life abroad remains a realistic option – whether for a short time or permanently, out of interest or necessity, during school years or afterwards. With transnational mobility, the authors address these diverse experiences and perspectives that need to be shaped. Following a theoretical and historical introduction, impulses for school development and education are presented, derived from a research and development project in cooperation with schools both domestically and internationally. Illustrated handouts and comics offer a variety of applications for teacher education and school development. Prof. Dr. Yasemin Karakasoglu and Senior Researcher Dr. Dita Vogel conduct research on education in a migration society at the University of Bremen.
