Product details
The book "Migrant Construction Workers in Times of Crisis" examines the challenges faced by migrant construction workers in Southern Europe during and after the Great Recession. It is based on extensive qualitative data and highlights the experiences of Albanian men both in the workplace and beyond. The work analyzes how these workers cope with economic difficulties and the role their families and male identities play in addressing these challenges. Additionally, a new framework for examining coping practices among migrant construction workers is proposed. The book contributes to the exploration of integration processes in Southern Europe by comparing the narratives of resident migrants in Italy and Greece. It also addresses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the lives of migrant construction workers in Southern Europe. With an interdisciplinary approach, the book is aimed at both students and researchers in the fields of migration studies, sociology, geography, anthropology, political science, and economics.
