The Psychosophical Society was founded in Zurich in 1945. This esoteric group aims to explore ancient wisdom teachings and revive secret orders. The founder of the organization, along with his wives, establishes the community of life and faith called "Abbey Thelema." They operate a weather station, an alchemical laboratory, celebrate Gnostic services, and run a hotel and an archive. Based on the religion of Thelema by the English occultist Aleister Crowley, all members work on themselves and on fantasies of salvation. Daily life under a narcissistic leader is characterized by effort and labor, rumors and slanders, jealousy, and displays of power. The book contains short biographies and texts on phenomena related to the Psychosophical Society.
