Why should a young woman be denied access to knowledge and spirit when the old men only play tricks with it? And why shouldn't a young doctor be allowed to use new methods if they can save people's lives? Curiosity is a duty for Dorothea and Tertius. And to fulfill their duty, they put a lot at risk.
