The IMAGO.Praxis series is the third element of the IMAGO publication series. It complements the other two formats: the IMAGO book series, which publishes foundational texts and research works in the field of scientific art education and didactics, and the IMAGO journal, which focuses on thematic areas (learning, painting, mimesis, among others) and connects topic-focused didactic considerations with theoretical reference texts and practical reflections on teaching in the context of practice-oriented research. IMAGO.Praxis fills the gap to classroom practice and is understood as an application-oriented, practical teaching resource based on a relational, anthropologically oriented art education. The series logically begins with a model for designing and planning art lessons. The model, conceived in the form of a guide, does not completely reinvent lesson planning. However, it moves away from a tightly structured, tabular planning approach and introduces a 'Didactic Figure' as a complex thinking and design model that is modularly structured and creates space for varying layouts in lesson planning. The starting point for any planning is a main task that marks the content and design problem horizon of a lesson or unit, to which all further considerations for planning are connected.
