Product details

The topic of care is becoming increasingly explosive in Germany. The reasons for this are varied and complex. It is undisputed that the working conditions for carers need to be improved. Qualifications and skills profiles also need to be modernised. How this need for reform can be successfully addressed is currently the subject of intense debate, including as part of the German government's interdepartmental "concerted action on care". A look at other countries could possibly help in the search for solutions: How is care organised in other countries and how do they respond to the increasing demand for care services? How are tasks and responsibilities distributed between the various healthcare professions and what training and further education programmes are available? What innovative concepts for care professions and for ensuring nursing care in the various settings are recognisable? Are modern technologies, digitalisation and robotics being used to support care? These and similar questions are addressed in a study by the Münch Foundation, which was conducted at the Institute of Health and Nursing Science at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. It analyses the situation in the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands and Canada and derives recommendations for action in Germany.
