Product details
Based on a new site-specific installation that Michael Beutler developed for his exhibition at the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum, this publication gathers the artist's recent works. For the first time, it also presents drawings and models that provide a deeper insight into the multifaceted creation process of his works. From the perspective of a new materialism, the texts highlight how materiality manifests in Beutler's work and shapes a concept of art that connects themes such as sustainability, utopian work and life models, improvisation, and chance. Michael Beutler, born in 1976 in Oldenburg, lives and works in Berlin. He studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and at the Glasgow School of Art. Since 2019, he has been a professor at HfBK Hamburg. His works have been presented in numerous international exhibitions.
