The book describes various methods for modeling mechatronic systems. Initially, the signal flow-oriented modeling, which is often used in practice, is employed for conducting a model-based system design. The inherent difficulties of this method become apparent during the necessary modifications of the system. As possible alternatives, bond graphs and object-oriented modeling are thoroughly introduced and subsequently applied to describe the same system. Finally, numerical integration methods are presented in a way that is understandable for engineers.
