Metaethik zur Einführung

Normative ethics addresses the question of what we should do from a moral perspective. Metaethics asks a more fundamental question: What does it even mean for us to be obligated to do something morally? This introduction presents several prominent groups of theories in metaethics, each offering very different proposals on how to interpret the status of morality. It discusses their initial motivations and core ideas, while also critically assessing their persuasive power and potential. Thematically, the volume addresses various key controversies, such as the question of the objectivity of morality, the debate surrounding the reconstruction of moral motivation, and the discourse on the possibility of a naturalization of ethics.
