The workbook 'Learning Situations in Office Management 1' (4th edition 2020, published on May 19, 2020) is the first part of a three-volume series for the new training occupation 'Clerk in Office Management'. Each individual workbook covers the learning fields of a training year. The three-volume workbook series 'Learning Situations in Office Management' follows the approach of the learning field concept and promotes career-oriented, holistic, and self-directed learning for students. The learning fields of the framework curriculum are specified in the form of learning situations. The workbooks deepen the idea of competence orientation (situation-related, problem-oriented, competence-enhancing), document competence acquisition due to their workbook character, and relieve teachers of the burden of lesson preparation, copying, and didactic annual planning. The learning situations also support teamwork as well as the ability of students to present and discuss. They promote competencies that go far beyond mere subject-specific knowledge. The model company 'Heinrich KG' is used as a basis for developing the learning situations. Heinrich KG is a fictional company in the office furniture industry that manufactures office furniture and trades in suitable accessories. With the consistently and economically credible modeled data, all qualifications and competencies required in the training of commercial trainees can be developed and learned in a job-related and action-oriented manner. The open design of the individual learning situations allows for interdisciplinary connections in many places. This intensively trains the ability of students to assess issues from various perspectives and to implement them appropriately in different situations.
