Product details

Only those who are optimally prepared both physically and mentally can perform at their best on the field and achieve victories. In the physical domain, there is now standard literature available that includes specific training methods. However, for mental training, there are still significantly fewer resources available that are specific to football, and their quality is often lacking. This is where the present manual comes in. It aims to provide football coaches, trainers, and physical education teachers with concrete recommendations for action that can be used to train the mental aspects of the teams they oversee. The primary focus is on the football coach themselves working with the players in the psychological or mental area, rather than relying on an external sports psychologist or mental trainer. The book combines theory and practice in an understandable way and presents, among other things, anonymized quotes from top coaches in German-speaking professional leagues, which stem from a research project by the first author and emphatically illustrate the points made.
