Hans Eberspächer is Professor of Sports Science and Sports Psychology at the University of Heidelberg. Like hardly any other he has many years of experience in psychological counselling, support and coaching of coaches and professional athletes.

In professional sports, when an outsider achieves a spectacular victory, it is often attributed to his or her special mental abilities. But not only in competitive sports mental resources play a special role, also for recreational athletes mental training is a starting point to improve individual performance. "Mental Training" shows ways to increase one's own mental possibilities with clearly prepared scientific findings. The focus is on attention, activity and imagination regulation as well as competence expectations, goal setting and analysis. Especially useful are the exercise examples, which offer easy access to the training of mental skills with easily comprehensible steps.
