The series People-Times-Spaces for the subject of Social Studies is precisely designed for the core curriculum of the integrated comprehensive school in Lower Saxony and links the subject content of the three subjects Geography, History, and Politics/Economics. The teaching materials, along with supplementary resources, ensure that everyone can participate in discussions and achieve their learning goals. It meets the requirements of language-sensitive subject teaching and incorporates methodological insights from German as a Second Language instruction. Language-sensitive Instruction in Social Studies

A central feature is the concept for language-sensitive subject teaching – specifically for language development within subject lessons. Each thematic page includes vocabulary for both active and passive language development. The tasks focus on vocabulary in so-called "language storage" sections, which are located at the bottom of each thematic page on a light yellow background. Many tasks offer linguistic starting points and formulation assistance. The textbook is certified as language-sensitive, providing a quality characteristic of the educational concept to ensure communicative participation in the lessons.
