In Isabella Rossellini's bestselling autobiography "Some of Me," animals play a significant role. The daughter of Ingrid Bergman and Roberto Rossellini now owns a genuine farm on Long Island, where, alongside her work as an actress, filmmaker, and model - the 63-year-old was recently engaged by Lancôme as a muse and spokesperson - she raises sheep, turkeys, bee colonies, organic vegetables, and recently, chickens. The love for chickens must run in the family: in 1952, Roberto Rossellini filmed the short "The Chicken" with Ingrid Bergman. A box of freshly hatched chicks, known as "heritage chicken breeds," arrived by mail: old, pre-industrial breeds. The rapid development of the birds was so fascinating that Isabella Rossellini asked the renowned photographer Patrice Casanova to portrait the poultry in all its feathered glory.
