Product details

Bernhard Weßling is what is commonly called a multi-talent. He studied chemistry and has a doctorate, so he is a researcher and scientist. But he is also a photographer and conservationist, works on an organic farm and is therefore also entrepreneurially active. Not only in this country, but also in the Far East. He lived in China for thirteen years and built up and ran a business with some success. But he has also travelled the country and studied the people there. He did this free of the usual prejudices and without any shyness. Of course, immersing himself in a completely foreign culture was like jumping into cold water. But he not only learned Chinese, he also quickly learned to swim in the water. Weßling understands his notes neither as a travel guide nor as a handbook for businessmen; it is neither a reference work nor a political analysis. Bernhard Weßling reports what he saw and heard. Nothing more. This, however, distinguishes him from most authors who write about China and have never actually been there.
