Estela has lived in the house of the strange family for seven years, looking after them day in, day out. The chequered apron has become a second skin, the thin walls of her room have grown ever closer. But she is not the only prisoner of the house: Estela sees her own loneliness mirrored in the girl's empty gaze. Every attempt at intimacy between employee and child is shattered by the ambitious mother and authoritarian father, by the brutality of the circumstances. Four people struggle to survive in a very confined space and yet inevitably hurtle towards disaster.
