Where do I come from? What have I done, what beautiful things have happened to me in my life? What has been important in my life? What are my views on many things that matter to me, and what hopes do I still have? Capturing all these personal memories and thoughts is the purpose of this book. Writing down one’s life story and eventually passing it on to loved ones gives us a connection that transcends death. My life book is a wonderful and empathetic tool to engage with elderly, seriously ill, and dying individuals in the context of biographical work, not only to establish contact but also to achieve a healing effect for those affected through a life balance analysis, fostering a sense of satisfaction with the life lived. Thus, reflecting on one’s own life can reveal the meaning of life and help in letting it go.
