Mein Handatlas

An atlas of images, stories and associations - for a different understanding of our world. While the world stood still for a time, people stayed at home and travel was unthinkable, the artist Arnold Mario Dall'O undertook excursions in his mind. The impulse for this came from "Stieler's Hand Atlas" from 1906, in which he identified a hundred places that reminded him of stories and historical events and triggered associations in him. He now records his thoughts in a hundred playful prose miniatures and visualises them in just as many refined linoleum cuts, which he prints on the historical maps. Dall'O unfolds the panorama of an entire century as a private mythology and as personal flashes of the great history of the world.
