Product details

In pharmacy, 90% of all medications are in the form of solid particles. Thanks to advancements in nanotechnology, it is now possible to produce drug nanoparticles that can be used in diverse and innovative ways. New methods for drug delivery can now be utilized, which may enhance the effectiveness of the medication and reduce side effects. Nanoparticles are defined as particle-shaped dispersions or solid particles with a size range of 10-1000 nm. The active ingredient is dissolved, encapsulated, or bound within a nanoparticle matrix. Depending on the manufacturing process, nanoparticles, nanospheres, or nanocapsules can be obtained. Nanocapsules are systems in which the active ingredient is enclosed in a cavity surrounded by a unique polymer membrane, while nanospheres are matrix systems in which the active ingredient is physically and uniformly dispersed. The main goals in developing nanoparticles as delivery systems are to control particle size, surface properties, and the release of pharmacologically active substances to achieve site-specific action of the medication at the therapeutically optimal speed and dosage.
