Mechatronische Systeme

Mechatronic systems arise from the integration of primarily mechanical and electronic systems, along with associated information processing. Essential to this is the integration of mechanical and electronic elements through their spatial arrangement and functions, as well as the achievement of synergistic effects. Local integration occurs through constructive design, while functional integration is achieved through information processing and thus through software design.

This book introduces the structure and modeling of mechatronic systems in a unified form and presents the behavior of mechanical components, electrical drives, machines, sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers. The goal is to achieve a specific system behavior.

The second edition includes significant expansions in development methodology, mechanical components, electrical drives, examples of machine models, sensors, hydraulic and pneumatic actuators, and fault-tolerant systems. Collections of exercises complement the individual chapters.
