The notebooks are suitable for individual use during phases of independent work, for practicing and deepening newly introduced content through self-directed study, as well as for differentiated homework assignments. The revision is based on proven principles such as an independent practice program, emphasis on the basic competency of "numerical accuracy," a focus on arithmetic content, and the ability to work independently. The clearly structured layout is complemented by new focal points: tasks that encourage discovery and research, recognizing and applying calculation tricks, pattern-seeking tasks, creative handling of mistakes, and informal tests. The "Word Problems 3/4" notebook also covers the competency area of "data, frequency, and probability" according to general educational standards. In addition to word problems in all important areas of measurement, child-friendly tasks from this field are also offered.
