If you really don't know the Kangaroo Mathematics Competition yet, it's high time to get acquainted. This competition has been around for almost 20 years and has now spread far beyond the borders of Europe, where it first started. In 2011 alone, more than a million students from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland attempted the problems. Worldwide, the 6 million mark was surpassed for the first time in 2011. The hallmark of the competition is its unconventional, stimulating, and anything but dry multiple-choice questions contributed by over 50 participating countries. Children and young people of all school types often participate with enthusiasm and joy every year. Since there are only winners in the end, the fun of mathematics is at the center of it all.
